NCAA DI eligibility: junior hockey after 19 needs a tighter plan NCAA D1 자격: 19세 이후 Junior Hockey는 더 신중한 계획이 필요합니다

The NCAA Division I eligibility model is changing for athletes who first enroll full time in college in fall 2027 or later. The simple point: junior hockey is no longer something families should treat as an open-ended runway.

Under the new age-based rule, a five-year eligibility period can start around the academic year after a player turns 19, even if the player is still in junior hockey. Once it starts, it keeps running.

Bottom line: the question is no longer only “Can this player play juniors?” It is “How much NCAA eligibility will be left when college starts?”
